Schon vor rund 3500 Jahren soll hier eine Holzbrücke den See überquert haben. Der Weg ist heute Bestandteil des Jakobweges nach Spanien.

Die heute 841m lange Brücke wurde im Jahre 2001 gebaut,
was scheinbar diesen Schwan nicht sonderlich stört...

Rapperswil ist aber auch die Heimat des Knie Kinderzoos.

In der Altstadt ist fast immer etwas los und erst recht bei diesem herrlichen Wetter.
Das Schloss tront über allem. Es wurde im 12. Jahrhundert gebaut und beherbergt heute ein Polenmuseum.

Im Jahr 981 wurde der älteste Rebberg am Zürichsee auf dem Schlossberg erstmals erwähnt. Seit 1871 besteht auf dem Lindenhof ein betreuter Hirschpark mit 10 bis 15 Damhirschen.

Die Stadt ist bekannt für ihre Rosen. Beim Kapuzinerkloster, direkt anschliessend an den Rebberg steht der wahrscheinlich grösste Rosengarten. Er umfasst rund 3000 Pflanzen von 150 Sorten.
