Nostalgie und Moderne treffen wir bei unseren Besuch am Genfersee gleich mehrfach an.
Einerseits in unserer Unterkunft, dem Angleterre et Residence in Lausanne, andererseits auf dem Dampfschiff La Suisse, doch dazu später mehr.

Das Angleterre liegt direkt am See und die 75 Zimmer, aufgeteilt auf 6 Pavillons, stammen aus dem 18. - 19.- und 21. Jahrhundert. Es bleibt also immer die spannende Frage wo man einquartiert wird :-)

Unser Zimmer hat alles was 4 Sterne Komfort bietet und dies auf hohem Niveau.
Kein Wunder, als Schwesterhotel des Beau Rivage Palace darf etwas erwartet werden...

Gegen Aufpreis  hat man dann auch Zutritt in den bekannten Cinq Mondes - SPA Bereich der grossen Schwester, welche sich ein Steinwurf entfernt befindet...

Das grosse Palasthotel aus dem 19. Jahrhundert bietet je eine Sauna und Dampfbad welche jedoch nur Geschlechter getrennt über die Umziehräume erreichbar sind...

Der Badebereich definiert sich durch einen durchaus anständig grossen Jacuzzi und ein Pool der ins Freie führt. Ein zweiter Pool befindet sich im Garten. Massagedüsen sucht man in den Pools jedoch vergeblich.

Lausanne ist ein wahres Mekka für Hotelliebhaber. Gleich vis-à-vis des Angleterre befindet sich das Chateau d'Ouchy.

Selbstverständlich gibt es aber in Lausanne nicht nur Hotels.
Ganz in Hafennähe befindet sich das Olympische Museum welches einen Besuch wert ist.

Pure Nostalgie erlebt man auf dem 1910 erbauten Schaufelraddampfer
mit einer Länge von gut 78 Meter.

Einst der grosse Stolz der Schweizer Dampfschiffe, wurde es vor 2 Jahren intensiv restauriert und die äussere Erscheinung in den Originalzustand hergestellt.

Langsam aber stetig bewegt sich das Schiff in Richtung Montreux. Wir geniessen eine herrliche Aussicht und auch das Wetter spielt mit.

Die beiden Decks bieten Platz für 850 Personen. Zum Glück waren wir nur 270 :-)

Das Schloss Chillon ist zum anfassen nah. Wir können den Besuchern sogar winken.

Die Fahrt geht wieder zurück in Richtung Lausanne und wir werden sogar von einem Wasserflugzeug begrüsst :-)
